My belief is that education is at the crux of hairdressing, I get a thrill from learning, but also from spreading my skills to fellow stylists. I can’t wait to share my journey with you!
You can never learn enough! You never know the places it can take you or the people that you will meet that will change your life. I have a lot to thank the hair industry for and I can’t wait to share my journey with you!
I began my journey as a Saturday girl to earn some extra pennies and I very quickly fell in love with hair. I was lucky enough to be trained in an award winning salon in Glasgow's West End, I moved forward to a historic town on the west coast of Scotland to work in an award winning hotel and Spa. These amazing salons taught me my foundations of hairdressing and my first love of Bridal hair.
I Have always loved to travel and worked on a five star cruise ship with Steiner, this was an incredible experience and one that I will always remember.
Back to Glasgow at a very busy and upcoming salon as creative and bridal stylist, where my own education and experience was furthered. This included many creative and classic cutting courses, extension courses, styling seminars, and creative colouring as well as having in-salon educational days from guest artists and educators. I feel this was the time that I grew up as a stylist and really honed my skills.
One positively fateful evening at an awards event where we won the biggest award - salon of the year, I was approached to apply for the education position at ghd covering Scotland and North East England. I already had a passion for learning, but knew I would love to have the opportunity to help other stylists grow their own skillset and knowledge. In my role, I became so in love with education and decided that this is at my core. I learned various skills and techniques in my time here and have had the absolute privilege to be taught and guided by some of the industry's finest, including Zoe Irwin, Leighanne Regan, Patrick Wilson and the fabulous, Jo Robertson! I gained so much experience on educating other stylists and through ghd now have an industry recognised award with VTCT.
I am now Freelance and based in Southsea, Hampshire, both in Salon and at home. I offer my services in education to salons on a freelance basis and also with Yellow Alfaparf UK teaching my vast experience and sharing my skills
